Void – Extra Terra & Infraction

I really enjoyed illustrating Extra Terra’s musical performance. The rhythm is driving and so impressive. There’s an incredible power and class to it. The Cyberpunk ambience is of course perfectly captured here, and I felt as if I were on a stage protected by a deity from elsewhere. The music made me feel as if I were decorporating my higher self in a world where everything is competition and proof of power between human beings. Understanding that the brain can make us imagine ourselves in such a state of transcendence made me realize that this kind of music isn’t just violence, it’s like a propellant to provoke a shock to lift us up. To feel elevated doesn’t mean to feel superior, it simply means that we become aware of our potential just by imagining it; it’s the power of the mind. But the first element that came to mind was a sort of protective divinity for this evocative whole. She also provides us with this energy while keeping out any malevolent beings. The energetic warmth emanating from this music seemed to permeate my body through its incredible rhythm. To me, this work is a representation of our hidden potential, just waiting to be harnessed and brought out into the open.
