Quantum Field – RSM & Giantapes (Rok Nardin)

It’s not often that a piece of music grabs you from start to finish, but Quantum Field does. I quickly had images and an atmosphere in my head, and this is a common criterion with the various interpretations I produce. Isolated in a place deep beneath the surface of a planet, an entity prowls, idolized by a multitude of beings at its service. Morbidity, possession, the bloody, the controlling and the obscure are all terms that inspired me to illustrate this incredible music. The mysterious, oppressive atmosphere at the start quickly made me imagine that a superior, disquieting being was making its presence felt. I saw a dark, pitch-black room so intense that I couldn’t see a thing, until the frantic pace gave way to a morbid revelation of a supernatural entity with an aura beyond comprehension. The gloomy, sectarian aspect of something unknown, mixed with a sense of fear and compassion for unsatisfied beings, made for a disturbing scene. Like a « Mother » icon, this entity represents unfulfilled possession, power and control. The dull complexion of the elements clinging to a bloody environment transcribed my emotion to this eerie soundtrack featuring something hidden that might well remain buried in our nightmares.
